Early Life

Jordan Klepper grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on March 9, 1979, as the only son to Betse, a ‘Loy Norrix High School’ secretary, and Mark Klepper. Mark and Betse met each other through Betse’s cousin, Tim Allen, a comedian, and actor. Jordan Klepper started studying at ‘Kalamazoo Central High School’. There he was a tennis player and a member of the National Champion Mock Trial Team and Kalamazoo’s Area Mathematics and Science Center.

Klepper has a double major in math and drama from Kalamazoo College after graduation as a ‘Heyl scholar’ in 1997. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2001. He also went to London to study for a while. His sister encountered aspiring actor Steven Yeun at ‘Kalamazoo College’ and took him to see Klepper’s improv show, which encouraged Yeun to register for his first acting class.

Klepper traveled to Chicago after graduation. There he got the chance to perform with ‘The Second City’. He also performed as a comedian for the ‘Big Ten Network’s show ‘Big Ten Friday Night Tailgate’. In 2011, he relocated to New York City and began working with the ‘Upright Citizens Brigade’.

On March 3, 2014, just four days after his original auditioning, Klepper made his first appearance on ‘The Daily Show’. He got consistently favorable feedback for his parts on the show, later he was made the host while Trevor Noah was unwell in October 2016.

Klepper revealed in April 2017 that he will host a new tv show in the autumn, following ‘The Daily Show’, on Comedy Central.  He also had a show called ‘Jordan Klepper’s Solves Guns’, a Comedy Central special, debuted on June 11, 2017. The new show was titled ‘Opposition with Jordan Klepper’, which launched on 25, September 2017.

In June 2018, the show was canceled, and Klepper launched a new docuseries, Klepper, which premiered in 2019. In December of the same year, he returned to ‘The Daily Show’ as well.

Klepper had said many times that Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert, and Jon Stewart are among Klepper’s comedy influences.

In 2013, Jordan Klepper married Laura Grey. Laura is a writer and actress.  They met at the set of ‘The Second City’ and ‘Upright Citizens Brigade’, and then collaborated on many short films that they wrote, produced, and starred in.
