Early Life

On March 11th, 1981, Paul Michael Wall was born in Houston, Texas. Wall was raised in Georgetown, Texas, where he was born to American parents. As of 2022, Paul is 41 years old and is still very active in the rap industry.

At a very young age, Paul got introduced to rapping by his buddy Mike Jones, an American rapper, while they both were students at High School Jersey Village located in Texas.

Wall continued his rapping vocation while he was still studying, and eventually left the University of Houston to pursue a full-time career in music. He started out working for Michael “5000” Watt’s radio station after dropping out. He also collaborated briefly with Watt and Chamillionaire before releasing his first mixtape.

Michael gave Wall permission to perform on their radio broadcast, and later even included one of Wall’s tracks in his company’s mixtapes release.

In 1999, Watts then assisted Paul Wall and Chamillionaire to publish their debut song “Choppin Em Up Part 2,” which quickly gained a lot of traction in the local rapping community. Their very first mixtape was indeed a huge hit, and as a result, Wall began to frequently get featured on mixtapes from “Swishahouse” and was also a part of several of Michael Watt’s initiatives.

Wall also founded a freestyle hip-hop group named “The Color Changin,” alongside Chamillionaire. They both collaborated on a number of soundtracks and albums, including “Get Ya Mind Correct,” which received a lot of public love after its release in 2002.

In 2004, Paul Wall made the decision to continue rapping and started his solo career, and left the group.

Paul Wall’s debut album, “Chick Magnet,” was published in 2004 by “Paid in Full Records.”  The album debuted at no. 54 on the Top of the R&B/Hip-Hop chart at Billboard. At that time, he was competing with great music artists like Bun B, Mike Jones, and Slim Thug.
